Marin Djurisic has a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from the University of Amsterdam. After his studies, he started a workshop for people with disabilities and has been working in healthcare ever since. He is currently doing a one-year master’s degree in Spiritual Care at the VU in Amsterdam. His MA thesis examines the role conspiracy theories can play in the emergence of fundamentalist ideologies and fundamentalist actions. In doing so, he wants to map out the effect of the increasing presence of conspiracy theories in the Netherlands since the outbreak of Covid-19. His goal is to provide insight into the possible dangers of conspiracy theories by examining a possible increase in fundamentalism within society through conspiracy theories.
