Nastja Tomat has a master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ljubljana and is currently a doctoral candidate in Philosophy and teaching assistant in Cognitive Science at the University of Ljubljana. Her dissertation focuses on the relationship between bounded and epistemic rationality, and the interplay between normative and descriptive approaches to the study of rationality. She is also interested in the relationship between philosophy, psychology, and cognitive science, and explores the extent to which empirical findings about human cognition can contribute to philosophical understandings of rationality.
She will contribute to the project by exploring selected aspects of the (ir)rationality of extreme beliefs.
