Niek Dijkstra obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (UvA) and a bachelor’s degree in Theology (VU) before enrolling in the master’s programme Filosofie van Cultuur en Bestuur and the master’s programme Theology and Religious Studies. Writing his theology thesis on fundamentalist beliefs concerning evil, Niek will be involved in the Extreme Beliefs project as an intern. His earlier philosophical research delved into the extreme political positions of notorious Dutch politicians Thierry Baudet and Sylvana Simons. He will now use this knowledge to get a better grip on the possible ways evil can be understood to be part of a fundamentalist worldview.
